Indriya is a play of senses. Indriya is an exquisite yet rooted statement of quiet elegance. The correlation of the five human senses or 'Indriya', to integrate with the persona is the ultimate desire of Indriya.

 

Indriya is an All-Women Enterprise formed by a team of a mother (Soudhamini) and daughter (Arthi) duo who have spent numerous years in the Education and Corporate world building Human Relations and Business Profitability. The call for change came in the form of a realisation of mindless consumerism, use/ignore and environment polluting fast fashion, unfair trade practices observed, and the rapid proliferation of guises of Handmade / Handwoven products.

In response, the Indriya team has initiated a ‘Maker to Market’ business platform by collaborating with and connecting craft-based NGO’s, Cooperative societies and lesser known hand craft based social enterprises and Artisans directly to the market. Our Vision is to support and impact livelihoods of India’s 4.3 million handloom weavers and 7 million artisans, majority who live below the poverty line (source 4th All Indian Handloom census 2018, GOI). Brand Indriya offers a curated range of authentic, premium, artisanal, eco friendly products that epitomize the principles of 'slow-fashion'.

Indriya is the culmination of the firm belief and conviction the Founders have in their own skills borne from experience, individual personal aesthetics of quiet elegance and deeply rooted values and ethics that have been acquired and honed by each of them while working in Senior Management roles for large Indian, respectable, professionally run Corporate enterprises.

The Founders have a shared passion to ‘pay-forward’ and make a difference to our world by making it a little better that it already is.

Narrate and showcase unique stories of high quality Indian craftsmanship and present these through, a curated contemporary marketing platform to effect a positive economic change in India’s handloom and handicraft sectors. The stories will instil pride and create awareness about preserving our ecology and heritage

  • Educate Consumers on Indian food,  clothing, hand craft and sustainability and  influence them to buy ‘Made in India’, products with pride and by choice. â€‹

  • Collaborate with social enterprises and co create, unique, niche, sustainable products and services, that are customized and present Indian, craft based designs in contemporary applications which would appeal to a domestic and global audience.​

  • Curate, handpick, value add and individually select customized designs that represent the intersection of handloom, handicraft and sustainability while ensuring provenance (authenticity) before placing it for sale.​

  • Establish a Consumer centric, comprehensive platform and leverage contemporary marketing channels and methodologies so as to connect our collaborators with consumers while abiding by the principles of fair trade.
